Energy Filament Theory (EFT; original-work DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.18757546; learning-entry DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.18517411), independently proposed by the Chinese author Guanglin Tu (ORCID: 0009-0003-7659-6138), is now in version EFT 7.0. This volume is Volume 1 of The EFT Manual of the Universe's Underlying Mechanics series, and it also serves as the master entry point to the full nine-volume Reading Edition.
This section lays out EFT’s reading framework in one place: what it is, which problems it aims to unify, how it relates to contemporary physics, why the Knowledge Base appears at the front, which Four-Layer Base Map the theory uses, what each of the nine volumes does and depends on, how different readers can enter, and how the high-frequency abbreviations, usage conventions, and public materials divide their roles. In other words, 1.0 is not a publicity page but the dictionary, index, route map, and entry point for the whole book.
I. What EFT Is: The Book’s Position in One Sentence
EFT is a new grand unified theory that starts from a single map of underlying mechanisms and tries to connect microscopic particles, quantum measurement, light, Field and force, the macroscopic cosmos, Black Holes and Silent Cavities, all the way to cosmic origin, boundary, and endgame.
It is not a local patch to one conclusion, one parameter, or one observational convention within contemporary physics. It is a full attempt to recast the physical narrative at the level of the Base Map itself. Its goal is not to keep stuffing the universe with more isolated, patchwork objects, but to use fewer and more unified underlying commitments to tell, in one continuous chain of mechanisms, what the world is made of, how things propagate, how structures form, and how the universe evolves.
In EFT, Vacuum Is Not Empty, and the universe is a continuous Energy Sea. Particles Are Not Points, but structures in the Energy Sea that curl up, close, and enter Locking. Field is not an additional entity, but a Sea-State Map. Force is not a mysterious hand, but Gradient Settlement. Light is not a little bead flying off on its own from the substrate, but Relay Propagation through the Energy Sea. The macroscopic cosmos, the Dark Pedestal, Black Holes, Silent Cavities, boundaries, and cosmic origin no longer need separate stories either; they all return to the same materials-science map.
Put differently, EFT does not try to split the universe into ever more unrelated specialties. It tries to pull the microscopic, the quantum, the macroscopic, and the cosmic whole back onto one common mechanistic substrate.
II. EFT’s Position: Not Replacing “How to Calculate,” but Supplying a Manual for “How It Works”
EFT’s mission is not to overthrow the mature calculational systems of mainstream physics, but to supply the long-missing manual of underlying mechanisms. Mainstream physics is like a high-level engineering language: it excels at how to calculate and how to predict with high precision. EFT, by contrast, focuses on how the universe works and how all things evolve, and provides the underlying mechanistic Base Map. The two are deeply complementary: mainstream physics is responsible for getting the result right, while EFT is responsible for explaining the physical reality behind the formulas, so that calculability and explainability can once again sit on the same map.
From that position, EFT unfolds by first constructing the physical picture and only afterward refining the mathematical formulation. It first closes the loop at the level of objects, variables, mechanisms, and the main cosmic axis, and only then gradually fills in mathematization, numerical fitting, and evidence engineering. This is not a slight to mathematics or an evasion of verification. It is a return to the natural cognitive order in which major theoretical breakthroughs usually happen.
Many major frameworks in history followed a similar path. Special relativity, for example, first completed a rewrite of the intuitive Base Map and gave its core predictions in 1905; the more rigorous geometric formulation and large-scale precision tests were worked out step by step over the years that followed. What EFT is trying to do is to first lay down that mechanistic Base Map for the building.
Readers entering EFT should therefore resist reading it as just another slogan system that wants to replace all existing physics. A safer reading is this: it is a Base Map that tries to recast explanatory authority, and a working framework that tries to reconnect scattered topics to one common chain of mechanisms.
III. The Unification Matrix: Which Once-Separate Problems EFT Tries to Bring Back onto One Map
Before moving on to the Four-Layer Base Map and the volume map, it helps to answer the most common first question: when EFT says it is trying to unify things, what exactly is being unified?
In 1.0, this Unification Matrix is not meant to prove anything. It serves as an index, letting first-time readers see which larger unification projects the apparently scattered chapters 1.1–1.29 will ultimately feed into.
EFT tries to bring six sets of problems that are usually handled separately—ontology, propagation, interaction, measurement, structure formation, and the cosmic picture—back onto the same Sea-State mechanism map.
- Ontological Unification: Bring Vacuum, Field, particles, and light back into one common ontological language.
What EFT tries to unify is not merely how several forces appear side by side. It first moves one level further upstream and asks what, exactly, exists in the universe. Vacuum is no longer an empty patch of nothing. Field is no longer an additional entity that exists on its own apart from the substrate. Particles are no longer little points with property labels pasted onto them. Light is no longer the exception that lives in a separate ontological department from particles and Field. All of them have to return to the same substrate: the continuous Energy Sea. In this volume, the main entry points are 1.2–1.6 and 1.13–1.14; the deeper expansion mainly lies in Volumes II–IV.
- Propagation Unification: Write propagation, information, and energy back into one common language of Relay.
In old intuition, “something is flying,” “information is being transmitted,” and “an effect is taking place” are often told as three parallel stories. In EFT, they are rewritten first of all as one and the same process of local handoff and segment-by-segment continuation. The point is to translate propagation back from whole-object transport into neighbor-to-neighbor replication, and to make light, Wave Packets, readout changes, and transmitted influence speak the same language again. In this volume, the main entry points are 1.5, 1.7, and 1.13–1.14; the deeper expansion mainly lies in Volume III and connects further to quantum readout in Volume V.
- Interaction Unification: Bring gravity, electromagnetism, nuclear binding, strong/weak rules, and the statistical layer back into one common dynamical ledger.
The unification inside EFT certainly includes the unification of the four forces, but it does not understand that task as “first assume four mutually independent forces, then try to merge their names.” It asks instead whether those appearances may already come from fewer underlying mechanisms: how gradients, Texture, Alignment, Locking, the rule layer, and the statistical layer together manifest as different faces. In this volume, the main entry points are 1.8 and 1.17–1.20; the deeper expansion mainly lies in Volume IV.
- Measurement Unification: Put light speed, time, redshift, observation, and readout back under one common metrological guardrail.
EFT holds that many macroscopic disputes become increasingly tangled because the propagation limit, Intrinsic Cadence, path evolution, and the local ruler-and-clock system are mixed into a single account. It therefore tries to bring questions such as why light speed appears stable, what time is really reading, how redshift should be split into accounts, and why the observer cannot stand outside the universe back into one metrological framework. In this volume, the main entry points are 1.10, 1.15, and 1.24; the deeper expansion mainly lies in Volumes V–VI.
- Structure-Formation Unification: Write orbits, nuclear stability, molecular bonds, and larger-scale structures back into one common grammar of formation.
In EFT’s picture, the microscopic world is not a theater of point particles plus a few invisible hands. It is a repeatable assembly process: how Texture becomes Filament, how Filament closes, how Locking stabilizes, how Alignment binds, and how Cadence defines the allowed window. Orbits, nuclear stability, molecular bonds, and even larger-scale structure formation all have to be understood again in that same grammar of formation. In this volume, the main entry points are 1.21–1.22; the deeper expansion mainly lies in Volumes II and VI.
- Cosmic-Picture Unification: Bring the Dark Pedestal, Black Holes, boundaries, Silent Cavities, origin, and endgame back under one common axis of evolution.
EFT does not intend merely to revise language at the microscopic or quantum level. It goes further and claims that redshift, the Dark Pedestal, the Black-Hole engine, Boundary Materials Science, Silent Cavities, cosmic origin, and cosmic endgame should also be reread on one and the same axis of Sea-State evolution. In this volume, the main entry points are 1.16 and 1.23–1.29; the deeper expansion mainly lies in Volumes VI–VII.
So the “unification” EFT speaks of does not simply mean putting the four forces into one table. It also tries, at the same time, to carry out ontological unification, propagation unification, interaction unification, measurement unification, structure-formation unification, and cosmic-picture unification. For a first-time reader, it is enough to remember this much: every later section is not just making a point in isolation. Each one is laying down substrate, mechanism, or evidence interface for one of these six strands of unification.
IV. The EFT Knowledge Base: A Rapid Evaluation Entry Point for Readers, Editors, and Reviewers
EFT 7.0 currently unfolds across nine volumes, and the Chinese corpus already exceeds one million words. As a paradigm-level reconstruction spanning microscopic particles to the macroscopic cosmos and covering everything from quantum measurement to Black-Hole evolution, asking any reader or reviewer to read the entire set in a short time and then issue an objective judgment is neither realistic nor efficient.
For that reason, we have made the structured, AI-friendly EFT Knowledge Base of the Underlying Operation of the Universe available free of charge as a separate resource. Its purpose is not to replace the original work, but to provide the fastest, fairest, and most easily reviewable entry point for an initial evaluation:
- For general readers: quickly judge whether this theory is worth the time required to read and study it.
- For professional reviewers and the media: quickly grasp the theory’s scope and core logic, and decide whether to proceed to a formal review.
We do not require outsiders to finish all nine volumes before they are qualified to comment. Instead, we advocate a pragmatic process that returns evaluative authority to the content itself. We strongly recommend the learning route “Knowledge Base + AI + Reading Edition”:
- Get the document: download the Knowledge Base file (a plain document file; no installation required). Public DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.18853200. Short link: 1.1.tt (type it into your browser address bar).
- Initial AI review: give the Knowledge Base to your AI assistant and have it study the structure, organize the material, and evaluate the whole system. You can even ask it to compare EFT with mainstream physics as objectively as possible.
- Assisted reading: when you move on to the nine volumes, let that “AI that has already learned EFT” act at any time as your personal index, explainer, and comparison assistant.
- Assisted error-hunting: A skeptical attitude toward any new theory is scientifically healthy. At any time, you can ask your AI assistant to analyze the EFT Knowledge Base, look for possible logical weaknesses, and stress-test the framework.
This approach dramatically lowers the barrier to understanding a million-word work and filters out the interference that comes from titles, circles, and preconceptions.

V. The Four-Layer Base Map: Position the Whole System Before Unfolding It
From this section onward, every new concept that appears later is assumed to fall somewhere on the same Four-Layer Base Map. Once you first determine which layer a question belongs to, it becomes much harder to mix up objects, variables, mechanisms, and cosmic appearance into one pot.
- Ontology Layer: What exists in the universe
- Energy Sea: the substrate of a continuous medium; Vacuum Is Not Empty.
- Texture: directional roads and interlockable organization in the sea.
- Filament: the smallest constructive unit formed after Texture condenses.
- Particles: steady structures formed after Filaments curl up, close, and enter Locking.
- Light: finite Wave Packets that are not locked and propagate by Relay.
- Field: a Sea-State Map (a Weather Map / Navigation Map), not an additional entity.
- Boundary structures: critical materials-science appearances such as Tension Walls, Pores, and Corridors.
- Variable Layer: What language describes the Sea State
- Density: how much “material” the substrate has, how strong the background is, and what the level of background noise is.
- Tension: how tightly the sea is pulled; it determines terrain slopes and the substrate of Intrinsic Cadence.
- Texture: whether the roads are smooth, how rotational organization is arranged, and which channels and couplings are preferred.
- Cadence: the stable ways of oscillating that are allowed, and the intrinsic clock.
- Mechanism Layer: How it runs
- Relay Propagation: change advances through local handoff.
- Gradient Settlement: the bookkeeping language of mechanics and motion.
- Channel meshing: the “teeth” of near-field Texture determine which channels are sensitive.
- Locking and Alignment: stable particles come from Locking; nuclear binding comes from the short-range Locking mechanism produced by Swirl-Texture Alignment.
- Statistical effects: the frequent birth and death of Short-Lived Filament States give rise to Statistical Tension Gravity (STG) and Tension Background Noise (TBN).
- Redshift Decomposition: Tension Potential Redshift (TPR) provides the Baseline Color, and Path Evolution Redshift (PER) the Fine Correction.
- Cosmic Layer: What it evolves into
- Main axis: the universe is not expanding; it is undergoing Relaxation Evolution.
- Extreme scenarios: Black Holes, boundaries, and Silent Cavities are described in a unified way within the Tension-Wall framework.
- The modern universe: a unified account of the Dark Pedestal, structure formation, and observational readouts.
- Origin and endgame: a roadmap given under the same set of Sea-State mechanisms.
The function of the Four-Layer Base Map is not to classify problems more prettily. It is to ensure that Volumes I–IX always speak from one and the same dictionary: first ask what the object is, then what the variables are, then how the mechanism runs, and only then why the macroscopic appearance looks the way it does. The Unification Matrix in the previous section is the horizontal index; the Four-Layer Base Map in this section is the vertical dictionary. The two together form EFT’s master entry point.
VI. The Nine-Volume Map and Its Dependencies: What Each Volume Solves, and What Groundwork You Need if You Buy Only One
EFT 7.0 is currently sold as nine standalone Reading-Edition volumes. You can buy only the one that interests you most, but the farther forward you go, the less you are “re-laying the Base Map” and the more you are drilling deeper, auditing, or cross-mapping on the same map. So this section states clearly, in one place, what each volume solves, together with its minimum dependencies and its recommended dependencies.
- Volume 1, Filament-Sea Base Map — Vacuum, Particles, Fields, Forces, and the Cosmic Readout: it provides the master entry point to EFT, the underlying objects, the core variables, the core mechanisms, and the navigation for the whole nine-volume set. It can be read independently and also serves as the shared substrate for the other eight volumes.
- Volume 2, Ring Particles and the Lineage of Matter — Closure, Locking, and the Making of Matter: it rewrites particles from “points” into Locking structures and structural lineages. Minimum dependency: Volume 1. Recommended companion: Volume 3, so that structure and propagation can lock together more securely.
- Volume 3, Open-Chain Wave-Packets and the Grammar of Propagation — Light, Field Quanta, and the Three-Threshold Relay: it rewrites light and the various propagators as untied energy Relay. Minimum dependency: Volume 1. It interacts most strongly with Volumes 2 and 4.
- Volume 4, Sea-State Fields and Forces — Gradient Settlement, Rule Layers, and Four-Force Unification: it writes Field as Sea-State Maps and rewrites the four forces back into gradients, rules, and the statistical layer. Minimum dependency: Volumes 1, 2, and 3, because Field and force must ultimately act on concrete structures and also be manifested through concrete propagators.
- Volume 5, Quantum Threshold Readout — Measurement, Environmental Imprint, and the Appearance of Probability: it rewrites quantum phenomena from probabilistic oracles into microscopic materials science. Minimum dependency: Volumes 1, 3, and 4. It is more stable if you have also read Volume 2, because quantum readout still has to land on structured objects.
- Volume 6, Relaxation-Evolution Cosmology — Participatory Observation, Redshift, Dark Substrates, and Cosmic Structure: it rereads redshift, the Dark Pedestal, structure formation, and cosmic evolution in EFT language. Minimum dependency: Volume 1. To truly digest the main axis, readers are advised to add at least Volumes 4 and 5, and ideally Volumes 2 and 3 as well.
- Volume 7, Black Holes and Silent Cavities — Boundaries, Origins, and Stress Tests in the Extreme Universe: it subjects EFT to extreme stress tests using Black Holes, Silent Cavities, boundaries, the parent Black Hole, and the future of the universe. Minimum dependency: Volumes 1 and 6. To fully digest manifestation, energy release, polarization, and evidence engineering, readers are advised to add Volumes 3 and 4 as well.
- Volume 8, Prediction, Falsification, and Experimental Adjudication — From Integrated Criteria to Final Verdict: it compresses the claims of the first seven volumes into experiments and observational protocols that can actually decide outcomes. It is not an appendix list of experiments; it is EFT’s own library of adjudication protocols. It strongly depends on Volumes 1–7. It is an audit volume, not an entry volume.
- Volume 9, Paradigm Crosswalk and Handover — Concept Translation, Boundary Redrawing, and Explanatory Authority: after the audit in Volume 8, it systematically compares EFT and mainstream physics in terms of scope of applicability, strengths, limits, and zones of possible translation between them. It strongly depends on Volumes 1–8. It is the final cross-mapping volume and the final gathering volume, best entered only after the main trunk has already been built.
In short, the nine volumes can be entered separately, but the farther forward you go, the more you are reviewing, adjudicating, and cross-mapping on the same map rather than laying a new substrate from scratch. To save time, start with the dependency chain. To avoid detours, start by filling in Volume 1.
VII. Four Reading Routes: Different Readers Can Enter Through Different Doors, But No One Should Skip the Shared Base Map
To make the nine-volume map genuinely usable rather than merely descriptive, here are the four most common reading routes:
- General route: Volume 1 -> Volume 4 -> Volume 6 -> Volume 8 -> Volume 9. This route suits readers who want the big picture first: first take the Base Map, then Field and force, then the cosmic appearance, and only then move into adjudication and paradigm cross-mapping.
- Microscopic route: Volume 1 -> Volume 2 -> Volume 3 -> Volume 4 -> Volume 5. This route suits readers most concerned with particles, light, Field, and the quantum: first stabilize the objects, then propagation, and only after that move into interaction and quantum readout.
- Quantum route: Volume 1 -> Volume 3 -> Volume 4 -> Volume 5. This route suits readers who most want to go straight at wave-particle questions, measurement, probability, and the unmeasurable: first establish the language of propagation, then connect Field and force, and only then enter quantum demystification.
- Cosmic route: Volume 1 -> Volume 4 -> Volume 5 -> Volume 6 -> Volume 7 -> Volume 8 -> Volume 9. This route suits readers most concerned with redshift, the Dark Pedestal, structure formation, Black Holes, boundaries, origin, and endgame: first add the guardrails of mechanics and measurement, then move into the universe and extreme scenarios, and only then accept adjudication and cross-mapping.
Whichever route you choose, it is not recommended to begin with Volume 8 or Volume 9. Those two volumes are for auditing and cross-mapping, not for rebuilding the substrate for you.
VIII. Abbreviation Index: Standardizing the High-Frequency Terms in Advance
- EFT: Energy Filament Theory. In this book, EFT refers only to Energy Filament Theory, not to effective field theory in mainstream physics.
- GUP: Generalized Unstable Particles.
- STG: Statistical Tension Gravity.
- TBN: Tension Background Noise.
- TPR: Tension Potential Redshift.
- PER: Path Evolution Redshift.
- TWall: Tension Wall.
- TCW: Tension Corridor Waveguide.
The point of this subsection is not to pile up terms. It is to reduce vocabulary drift when readers move across volumes. Readers only need to remember one thing: every abbreviation serves the same worldview substrate.
IX. Usage Conventions: Standardizing the Reading Method Before Entering the Main Text
- Throughout this book, the default order is: first ask what the object is, then the variables, then the mechanism, and only then the macroscopic appearance.
- The primary meaning of “red” is “tighter, therefore slower.” It often corresponds to earlier, but it is not identical to earlier.
- Whenever you see a place where a “constant remains stable,” first ask: is the world itself unchanged, or is the readout stable because rulers and clocks share the same origin and vary together?
- From this section onward, every mention of “Volumes 1–9” refers exclusively to the nine-volume EFT 7.0 Reading Edition. The legacy website edition, the Knowledge Base, and the video library are different interfaces and should not be mixed with the Reading Edition.
- Both the Knowledge Base and the Reading Edition are protected by intellectual property rights. The author recommends using the Knowledge Base + AI + Reading Edition together, rather than letting any one of the three replace the others.
- Whenever later text mentions the website, the Knowledge Base, or the video library, the reference is always to the versions publicly released by the author.
X. Division of Materials: EFT Is Not a Single Book but Four Coordinated Interfaces
EFT does not exist as a single book alone. Instead, it is presented through four coordinated formats. They do not overlap. Each has its own role and offers the most comfortable entry point for a different need:
- Reading Edition (the nine-volume EFT 7.0 set): the core for systematic study
This is currently the most complete and most systematic official version, issued as a commercial publication. Readers can flexibly choose single volumes or combinations according to their own interests or the theory’s dependency chain.
- Video library (centered on YouTube): a bridge for building intuition
The video library is based mainly on EFT 6.0. Its job is not to replace the text, but to use visual scenes and vivid analogies to lower the cognitive threshold as much as possible and help readers grasp complex physical intuitions and mechanisms with ease.
- Knowledge Base (an AI-friendly structured document): a tool for efficient evaluation
It is publicly available for free and continuously updated. It is a tool for breaking language and professional barriers. It allows readers to use AI for rapid evaluation and cross-language communication, and it also becomes the best intelligent index assistant for asking questions while reading the full set.
- Legacy website edition (energyfilament.org): the archive of the theory’s evolution
The website continues to make EFT 6.0 and 5.05 publicly available for free. It is the main public portal for consulting earlier mechanism maps, public materials, and the original way in which the theory was unfolded. Short link: 1.tt (type it into your browser address bar).
In short, this matrix of Reading Edition + Video Library + Knowledge Base + Website gives precise guidance for different needs: for rapid value assessment, use AI with the Knowledge Base; for a zero-threshold intuition, start with the videos; for systematic study and derivation, enter the Reading Edition; for the historical Base Map and earlier public drafts, go to the website.
XI. Section Summary: Take the Master Map First, Then Decide How to Enter
What 1.0 truly hands to the reader is not a declaration demanding an immediate stance, but a master navigation map that can be checked, questioned, and entered by dependency. By this point, at minimum, four things should be kept in mind:
- EFT is not a local patch. It is an attempt to rewrite physics at the level of the Base Map itself.
- The “unification” EFT speaks of does not only mean putting the four forces together. It also means a unified rewriting of ontology, propagation, measurement, structure formation, and the cosmic picture.
- The Knowledge Base stands at the front not to replace the original work, but to give readers, reviewers, and AI the fastest and fairest first-pass evaluation entry point.
- The nine volumes are not nine unrelated books. They are differentiated labor, deeper drilling, adjudication, and cross-mapping on the same map.
If this is your first contact with EFT, the safest order is this: start with the Knowledge Base, let AI produce an initial structured evaluation, and then return to Volume 1, Section 1.1, to enter the main text properly.
If you already know that you care about only one volume’s topic, first look at the dependency chain in Section VI and fill in the minimum groundwork before entering. And if your final goal is Volume 8 or Volume 9, leave them for last, because those two are not entry volumes but the audit volume and the final cross-mapping volume.
